Being a Nightline listener
Volunteering with McGill Students’ Nightline is a challenging, dynamic, but immensely rewarding experience. You will learn and practice the skill of active listening and get to meet amazing fellow volunteers in the process!
To volunteer with us, you must:
- Be a McGill student
- Be comfortable conversing in English
- Be passionate about providing a listening ear to others!
Please note that we are currently working on expanding our french service and are looking for bilingual volunteers.
Want to apply?
There are a few steps to becoming a volunteer:
Round 1: Written application
Round 2: Zoom interview with a Nightline external executive member
Round 3: ~40 hours of mandatory training (during the period of one week)

Re-applying
Every semester, we receive many more excellent applicants than we can train, and unfortunately, we cannot invite everyone to volunteer with us. However, if you apply and are not accepted, we highly encourage you to try out in a subsequent semester!
