Being a Nightline listener
Volunteering with McGill Students’ Nightline is a challenging, dynamic, but immensely rewarding experience. You will learn and practice the skill of active listening and get to meet amazing fellow volunteers in the process!
To volunteer with us, you must:
- Be a McGill student
- Be comfortable conversing in English
- Be passionate about providing a listening ear to others!
Ready to apply?
There are a few steps to becoming a volunteer:
Round 1: Written application
Round 2: Zoom interviews with a Nightline external executive member
Round 3: ~40 hours of mandatory training in late September (during the period of one week)
For now, if you are interested please fill out the following google form and we’ll reach out to you regarding the written application in the first few days of classes.
N.B.: There have been issues with our email being sent to junk mail in the past. If you have not heard from us by the first week of classes, please send a message to : nightlinerecruitment@gmail.com
Re-applying
Every semester, we receive many more excellent applicants than we can train, and unfortunately, we cannot invite everyone to volunteer with us. However, if you apply and are not accepted, we highly encourage you to try out in a subsequent semester!
